Suggestions for using music to reduce stress and tension:

  • check breathing- even breathing (same count for inhale and exhale)
  • select settled music (instrumental preferred) and practice even
    breathing for about 15-20 minutes
  • practice tension/relaxation exercises while listening to Liquid Mind
    selections, remember to connect with the following areas: forehead,
    eyes, jaw, shoulders, neck, chest, back, arms, hips, legs, feet
  • sequence your active music listening, start with music that matches
    your current unsettled state 5-10 minutes, move into soothing music
    for 5-10 minutes, and the end with energized music for 5-10 minutes;
    skip the last step if using music to induce sleep
